Word is that GGYC members have been informed as well that SF will be the venue for AC34. Fabulous news and only a $38 flight away.

As a Canadian kid worked washing dishes in North Beach and later as a journalist covered many ACups. What a fantastic venue choice for both the teams and public race viewing, from Sausalito to Coit Tower! The hard-driving Mr. Ellison has never done anything by half-measure, so the old pier developments for AC teams, media, and public should be first-class. As a mono-hull curmudgeon a little disappointed in using catamarans. However, hope they provide exciting match racing and the litigious atmosphere of the last Cup doesn’t appear. A bit sorry for Newport with so much past Cup tradition, but this venue choice for the World’s premiere sailing event can only add to one of the World’s great cities. crb
